Cara M. Chittenden

With over 18 years of experience, Ms. Chittenden regularly assists clients in developing comprehensive estate plans tailored to their unique circumstances. In elder law matters, Ms. Chittenden works closely with clients and their loved ones to address issues related to aging, incapacity planning and guardianships. Her practice also includes drafting prenuptial agreements and creating special needs plans designed to safeguard the long-term well-being of individuals with disabilities.

Ms. Chittenden earned her Bachelor of Science degree in public health from the Indiana University Bloomington Paul H. O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs in 2002. She later attended the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, where she obtained her Juris Doctor in 2007. During law school, she distinguished herself academically and professionally, earning membership in the Order of Barristers. She also served as an articles editor for the Indiana International and Comparative Law Review.

Admitted to practice in Indiana, Ms. Chittenden is also admitted before the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit. She remains active in the legal community as a member of the Indiana State Bar Association and several sections of the Indianapolis Bar Association, including family law, litigation, animal law, and estate planning and administration.
