George G. Slater, II

George G. Slater II is the founder of Slater Law Office LLC, where he focuses his practice on elder law as well as estate planning and administration. From the firm's offices in Carmel, Indiana, he provides representation to clients throughout Hamilton County and other parts of the greater Indianapolis metropolitan area. Admitted to practice in Indiana since 1979, Mr. Slater is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, and he has been certified as an elder law attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation.

Mr. Slater's elder law client base consists of senior citizens and their loved ones, and the work that he handles on their behalf encompasses Medicaid planning as well as other issues involving long-term care needs, including nursing homes and assisted living facilities. He also prepares certain types of estate planning documents that are specific to their situations, including special needs trusts, advance medical directives, and financial and health care powers of attorney. Mr. Slater handles estate planning arrangements for younger clients as well, including the preparation and review of wills as well as revocable and irrevocable trusts. He also guides clients of all ages through the probate process, and his experience has included guardianships and conservatorships.

Mr. Slater is frequently asked to deliver presentations on topics related to his practice area at continuing legal education seminars and to bar association meeting attendees. His professional memberships include the Hamilton County Bar Association and the Elder Law Section of the Indiana State Bar Association. A 1979 graduate of the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, Mr. Slater also holds a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, and he is a certified public accountant.
