Details

I am a Partner with Emerson Divorce & Accident Injury Attorneys, LLC with more than 25 years experience as a practicing attorney in and around Indianapolis, Carmel, Zionsville, and Westfield. I have spent my legal career helping people who have suffered severe personal injuries or who have lost a loved one secondary to a wrongful death. I also routinely represent clients in high asset divorce actions and child custody disputes.

I have extensive jury trial experience, having tried seven medical malpractice jury trials to verdict either as first- or second-chair. I have experience representing clients in both civil and criminal appeals to the Indiana Court of Appeals, the Indiana Supreme Court, and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. I am a trained civil mediator and a trained family law mediator.

I am honored to have been selected to many invitation-only lawyer organizations. I am a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, a select group of attorneys who have represented personal injury clients receiving a verdict or settlement of at least One Million Dollars. I have also been named as one of the top 100 trial lawyers in the State of Indiana by the National Trial Lawyers Association. I am also honored to have been selected as a barrister in the Sagamore Inn of Court, which is an invitation-only group of civil and criminal attorneys and judges practicing in the metropolitan Indianapolis area.

I grew up on a farm near Crawfordsville, Indiana where I learned the value of hard work and doing the right thing. After high school, I graduated from Purdue University, then graduated from law school at the Indiana University McKinney School of Law, with honors, in 1995.

When I'm not practicing law, I am spending time with my husband, three kids and two dogs. When my kids were young they were very active in sports, livestock, and the arts, so you can often find me at a game or the county fair. My kids went to Zionsville Community Schools during elementary and middle school, but then graduated from Carmel High School. Now, one is a law student at Maurer School of Law in Bloomington, one is a doctoral candidate in clinical psychology at Idaho State University, and my youngest is finishing his degree in Engineering at Purdue. Now that we are officially empty-nesters, I am an avid college basketball fan, and you can often find me cheering on the Boilers. I have also recently taken up cake decorating but I still have a lot to learn. My husband is an avid golfer - me, not so much - but I like being outside during the summer so I often tag along to drive the cart.
