Kathryn Hillebrands Burroughs

Kathryn Hillebrands Burroughs is a partner of Cross Glazier Reed Burroughs, PC, in Carmel, Indiana. She concentrates her practice solely on matrimonial and family law including premarital agreements, cohabitation agreements, divorce, child custody, parenting time and support, and interstate disputes and modifications.

Ms. Hillebrands Burroughs is certified as a specialist in family law by the Indiana Family Law Certification Board. She serves as a board member for the Independent Certification Organization for the Indiana State Bar Association, which certifies family law specialists in Indiana. She is admitted to practice in Indiana and the U.S. District Court Southern District of Indiana.

In 2015 she was reappointed by the Indiana Supreme Court to serve another five year term as one of ten members of the Indiana Board of Law Examiners. She was also appointed to serve on the Indiana Child Custody and Support Advisory Committee. The latter committee was created by statute to make recommendations to the Indiana Supreme Court regarding state child support guidelines and other items relating to the welfare of children of families no longer intact.

Ms. Hillebrands Burroughs is a past chairwoman of the Indiana State Bar Association, Family and Juvenile Law Section, and served as an officer on its executive board from 2001-2011. She has led seminars for attorneys on numerous family law-related legal topics.

She has been consistently honored by her peers. Starting in 2009 and continuing each year after, she has been listed in Indiana Super Lawyers by Indianapolis Monthly magazine. In 2011, she received the Gale M. Phelps Award from the Indiana State Bar Association. The award is given to attorneys who continually elevate the standards of professionalism in the field of family law. She was selected for inclusion in the 2015-2020 Editions of The Best Lawyers in America.

Ms. Hillebrands Burroughs is a magna cum laude graduate of Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, where she served as associate editor of the Indiana Law Review, and was on the dean's list for three years. She graduated from Indiana University with a B.A. in English.
