Having tried cases in both state and federal courts, she has obtained multimillion-dollar jury verdicts in antitrust and legal malpractice cases. Graduating from Indiana University with a bachelor’s degree in economics, Ms. Joven decided to pursue legal education from Indiana University Maurer School of Law. She was actively involved in various curricular activities, including being a contributor for the Indiana Law Journal. She also received the American Jurisprudence Award for Civil Procedure. She gained her Juris Doctor in 1994 and in the same year earned her license to practice law in Indianapolis.
As a practitioner in both state and federal courts, Ms. Joven is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Northern Districts of Indiana. She served as a judicial clerk to Honorable John G. Baker at the Court of Appeals of Indiana. She also gained experience in drafting appellate briefs and presenting arguments in federal courts in Indiana, serving as the Deputy Attorney General for the State of Indiana. This early exposure shaped her approach to cases and molded her current practice.
In the past three decades, Ms. Joven has been dedicated to providing accessible and ethical representation to her clients. This dedication earned her recognition in Best Lawyers in America for Legal Malpractice and she is also AV Preeminent* peer-review rated through Martindale-Hubbell. She is active in the legal community as a member of the Executive Committee of the Appellate Practice Section of the Indianapolis Bar Association, where she formerly served as chair. She is also a frequent speaker and has presented at CLE seminars on appellate law.
