Charles C. Hayes

Practicing law for about 20 years, Charles C. Hayes is an attorney at Hayes Ruemmele LLC, headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana. As a criminal defense attorney, he protects the rights of his clients against accusations of drug abuse, sex crimes, federal crimes and violation of civil rights. He has successfully represented clients on serious felony charges including attempted murder, rape, robbery, firearm possession and drug dealing.

Mr. Hayes completed his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Notre Dame in 2000. In 2003, he obtained his law degree from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in Bloomington. He passed the bar the same year and was admitted to practice in Indiana, and before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee and U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit.

Joining the firm in 2011 when it was Sweeney Law, Mr. Hayes climbed the career ladder to become a partner in Sweeney Hayes LLC. He fought for his clients zealously in jury trials and gained immense experience in the field of criminal defense during his time at the firm. He has acquitted many clients with severe narcotics and theft charges.

Mr. Hayes attended courses at the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers White Collar College in 2012 and the Indiana Public Defender Council Trial Practice Institute. Soon after law school, he got the opportunity to work for over six years with the Marion County Public Defender Agency. He spent significant time handling felony cases and a wide range of litigations during his time as a public defender.
