Attorney Gloria Mitchell is the founder and owner of Mitchell Law in Indianapolis, Indiana. Nationally recognized as one of the country's preeminent attorneys, Ms. Mitchell focuses her practice almost exclusively on family law. She has extensive experience serving the needs and interests of clients throughout the greater Indianapolis metro region, Hamilton County and surrounding areas who are going through a divorce or have some other serious legal issues affecting their families.

Along with handling all aspects of divorce and legal separation, including child custody and support, property division, alimony, and other related matters, Ms. Mitchell also assists with stepparent and birth adoptions, as well as estate planning modifications during divorce proceedings. Well-versed in alternative dispute resolution techniques, she strives to help her clients resolve their conflicts, and reach agreements through mediation, collaboration and arbitration as opposed to traditional litigation.

Whether inside or outside of the courtroom, Ms. Mitchell maintains a sharp focus on her clients' specific needs and goals, and she works hard to ensure the best odds of achieving the favorable outcomes they seek as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible. From this high level of commitment to her clients, coupled with her extensive legal knowledge and skills, Ms. Mitchell has earned numerous awards and honors from her peers, including an AV Preeminent peer review rating* from Martindale-Hubbell and a listing in The Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers.

In addition, she has received designation from The Best Lawyers in America, as well as recognition as one of the Top 25 Women Attorneys in Indiana and a Who's Who in American Law. She has also received "Superb" client ratings on Avvo, along with numerous positive reviews and referrals from those she has served.

A 1983 graduate of Miami University, Ms. Mitchell obtained her Juris Doctor from Indiana University School of Law in 1988. The Indiana State Bar Association admitted her to practice that same year, and she is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit.

A leader in her field, Ms. Mitchell has published numerous articles on a variety of legal topics related to family law, and she once served as chair of the Executive Committee for the Indianapolis Bar Association's Family Law Section. She is also a member of the Hamilton County Bar Association's Family Law Section and the National Association of Counsel for Children. In addition, she has served on the board of directors of the Indianapolis Bar Foundation, where she is a Distinguished Fellow.
