Attorney Profile

A partner at Wooden McLaughlin, LLP, Gregory P. Kult focuses his practice on providing advice and counsel to businesses throughout the State of Indiana on a wide variety of employment matters. Mr. Kult's clients include health care institutions and providers, banks and other financial services companies, multifamily developers, construction companies, manufacturers, and professional services firms.

From his office in Indianapolis, Mr. Kult provides advice and counsel to his employer clients on how to reduce the risk of discrimination claims under such statutes as the Americans with Disabilities Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act. He helps employer clients administer complex compensation programs in compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act and state wage laws. He provides employers with counsel on virtually every aspect of employment law, including such varied topics as FMLA and other types of leave, protection of proprietary information, independent contractor arrangements, restrictive covenants, drug testing, and separation agreements. He also conducts on-site management training sessions and workplace investigations for employers. He has represented employers in cases before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the U.S. Department of Labor, and several other agencies, as well as before state and federal courts. In these cases, he has defended employers in connection with claims of wrongful termination and other forms of retaliation, wage and hour claims under the Fair Labor Standards Act, and claims of sexual harassment. With respect to his health care clients, Mr. Kult also advises management on matters related to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, the Stark Law, the False Claims Act, and licensure standards.

Majoring in economics, Mr. Kult received a Bachelor of Arts with high distinction from Indiana University Bloomington in 1990. He was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Society. He then obtained his legal education at the University of Wisconsin Law School and was awarded his Juris Doctor in 1994. Admitted to practice in Indiana and Wisconsin, Mr. Kult is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin. He has delivered numerous presentations on topics of interest to employers and management related to his practice area.
