Attorney Profile

A partner at Wooden McLaughlin, LLP, James M. Boyers has developed a well-deserved reputation as a top-notch civil trial attorney. From the firm's office in Indianapolis, Indiana, he provides representation to businesses and individuals throughout Marion, Hancock, Hamilton, Hendricks, Boone and Johnson counties in a variety of different areas. Mr. Boyers defends parties in negligence and wrongful death litigation arising out of defective products, premises liability and toxic exposure claims.

As part of his trial practice, Mr. Boyers focuses a lot of his attention on e-discovery matters, which is the review of emails and other electronically stored evidence, and he has put this to use in federal multidistrict litigation. In addition to serving as first chair in trials, he has helped clients to reach accords through such alternative dispute resolution techniques as arbitration and mediation. His fellow professionals have taken note of his successes as well as his high degree of ethics, and they have awarded Mr. Boyers an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell. In addition, he has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America.

Mr. Boyers is a graduate of Hanover College, where he majored in English and received a Bachelor of Arts in 1994. He then went on to attend the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in Bloomington, where he served as the managing editor of the Indiana Journal of Global Legal Studies before being awarded his Juris Doctor in 1998. Admitted to practice in Indiana, Mr. Boyers is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit.

*AV®, AV Preeminent®, Martindale-Hubbell Distinguished and Martindale-Hubbell Notable are certification marks used under license in accordance with the Martindale-Hubbell certification procedures, standards and policies. Martindale-Hubbell® is the facilitator of a peer review rating process. Ratings reflect the anonymous opinions of members of the bar and the judiciary.
