Graduating with the highest distinction from Indiana University Kokomo with a major in social and Behavioral Science, Ms. Maddox decided to pursue a career in law and joined the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. While there, she served as a member of the Women’s Caucus and a secretary for the Legal Advocates for Disability Rights in Education.
Earning her Juris Doctor in 2006, Ms. Maddox passed the bar, gaining the license to practice law in Indiana the same year. Her other court admissions include the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit. Maintaining professional affiliations with the legal community, she is a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association, the Indianapolis Law Club, the American Bar Association and the litigation section of the Indianapolis Bar Association.
Before joining Betz + Blevins, Ms. Maddox worked as a law clerk for a couple of law firms in Indianapolis and interned at the office of the former United States Senator Evan Bayh and for the Honorable Judge Stephen M. Jessup of Howard County Superior Court No. 2.
Having represented several clients in civil rights and employment matters in state and federal courts, Ms. Maddox is a seasoned litigation attorney with a deep understanding of the law. She has extensive experience in representing teachers in negotiations and termination proceedings starting from investigation and discovery to trial and appeals.
