Jonathan Harwell is the founder of Harwell Gray Legal Counsel LLC. With a varied practice that is divided between criminal defense matters and family law cases, he represents clients throughout the state of Indiana from the firm’s offices in Indianapolis. Majoring in legal studies, Mr. Harwell attended Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, he received a degree in Legal Studies. He then obtained his legal education at the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, and he served several internships before being awarded his Juris Doctor.
Mr. Harwell’s criminal defense experience encompasses trials and appeals of state and federal charges. The cases that he has worked on have included drug possession and dealing, driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol, assault, domestic violence, weapons violations, kidnapping and murder. Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Harwell has been able to obtain positive outcomes for his clients, including dismissals, acquittals, reversals on appeal and the negotiation of favorable plea agreements with prosecutors. He has been able to obtain acquittals of murder charges and even molestation charges. He has also had successful reversals on appeal. He has also been able to negotiate dismissal of a death sentence in capital case to a kidnapping charge instead.
