Nicole McAtee is a family law attorney based in Martinsville, Indiana. She represents clients in dissolutions of marriage, paternity actions, custody and child support modifications, guardianships, adoptions, and prenuptial, postnuptial, and cohabitation agreements. Nicole is also a trained Guardian ad Litem (GAL) and volunteers for Kids’ Voice of Indiana, in addition to her private GAL work. She has experience in numerous courts throughout Indiana. As a Martinsville resident, Nicole especially enjoys practicing in Morgan County and the surrounding areas.
Nicole has a strong courtroom presence built on her experience in both criminal and civil courts. Nicole prides herself on effective communication with not only her clients but with all parties involved to help facilitate a resolution to a dispute whenever possible. Her compassion for clients, regardless of their circumstances, makes her an ideal advocate when facing a difficult family law case.
Nicole has previously served as a board member of the Central Indiana Regional Board of the American Cancer Society, the Indianapolis Bar Foundation, and the Young Professionals of Central Indiana. She is a recipient of the Leadership in Law “Up & Coming Lawyer” award from the Indiana Lawyer, in addition to being named a Distinguished Fellow of the Indianapolis Bar Foundation. She is a repeat recipient of the Super Lawyers “Rising Star” designation. Nicole has written several articles for the Indiana Lawyer newspaper and was a panelist for a continuing education workshop for behavioral health professionals. She was collaboratively trained by the Central Indiana Association of Collaborative Professionals.
Nicole is a graduate of Indiana University and earned her law degree from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and attending local events on the town square.
