J. Douglas Angel

As the visionary behind the Law Offices of J. Douglas Angel in Munster, Indiana, J. Douglas Angel dedicates his practice to navigating the complexities of civil litigation in family law. He also serves as a family law mediator. Beyond this, he tackles issues related to business, commercial contracts, and litigation.

Mr. Angel embarked on his academic journey at Indiana University in Bloomington, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts with a focus on political science, sociology and psychology. He later completed his Juris Doctor at the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis. Licensed to practice law in Indiana in 1976, he was admitted to the Supreme Court of Indiana, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.

A pillar in the legal fraternity, Mr. Angel actively participates in the American Bar Association's Family Law Section, the Indiana State Bar Association's Family and Juvenile Law Section, and the Lake County Bar Association's Family and Juvenile Law Section, among others. Furthermore, he holds the esteemed title of Master Emeritus with The Calumet American Inn of Court.

A consummate professional, Mr. Angel has been a prominent voice and leader at numerous continuing legal education seminars focusing on family law. Judges and fellow attorneys praise him for his commitment to enhancing the quality of legal services for families in Northwest Indiana.
