Steven J. Sersic

Steven is a true native of the area. Steven J. Sersic grew up in Hammond, Indiana, where his dad worked as a Hammond police officer and his mom taught school for the City of Hammond. Steve is an active member of the American Trial Lawyers and the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association.  He also served as President of the Lake County Bar Association (2018) as well as Secretary (2020-2022) and the Board of Managers (2013-2022).   He currently sits on the Indiana State Bar Association Board of Governors and the Board of Directors of the Indiana Trial Lawyers Assocation (ITLA).

Steven's practice focuses on representing people who have been hurt because of bad driving, faulty products and neglectful property maintenance and ownership, as well as insurance claims that have been wrongfully denied.

Steven also has successfully pursued and argued cases before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the Indiana Court of Appeals, and the Indiana Supreme Court, including the recent Indiana Supreme Court Case of Cosme v. Erie Insurance, 24S-CT-159 (Decided May 6, 2024).    Steven, alongside his colleague Angela M. Jones,  received the 2024 Indiana Trial Lawyers Association Trial Lawyer of the Year Award for their work on that case. 

He has committed his practice to representing injured people. He lives in Wheatfield, Indiana, with his wife Michelle, daughter and two stepsons
