Attorney Profile

Registered Civil and Domestic Mediator.  For over 35 years, I have defended civil suits, including personal injury, product liabiltiy, trucking accidents, motor vehicle accidents, medical malpractice and commercial litigation. I have served clients by trying numerous jury trials throughout Indiana and in federal court.  As former President of Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana, Past President of American Board of Advocates (Indiana) and State Representative of DRI, I  am a strong advocate of the right to trial by jury.  Nevertheless, I recognize the need to promote civility throughout the judicial system by serving as both an attorney advocate and as a registered civil and domestic mediator.

My selection as Indiana's Defense Trial Lawyer of the Year in 2008 was a great recognition by my peers.  Service as Indiana's elected DRI State Representative (2012-2015) allowed me to gain experience on a national level whereas experience serving as Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President and President of American Board of Trial Advocates (Indiana) educated me to the needs of both sides of legal issues. I remain an active invited member of ADTA, DTCI and Indiana Association of Mediators.  I have chaired several continuing legal education seminars for attorneys (Stanley v. Walker Forum) and have authored several scholarly articles published for the benefit of the legal profession, including "Defending Traumatic Brain Injury Litigation in 2017." I enjoy a 10.0 ranking by AVVO and an AV Rating by Martindale Hubbell.  In 2017, I was honored with America's Top One Hundred Attorneys Life Time Achievement Award. While I am greatful for this award, I look forward to continuing to satisfy my peers and clients for many years to come as both an advocate and as a mediator.  For specific information concerning mediation, please see

  • When helping seriously injured people, I welcome the opportunity to facilitate correction of the wrong. My involvement in several large settlements positively changed the lives of my clients for the better by helping them mitigate their damages. Serious accidents are life changing events for everyone involved.  While the law can't erase the harm, attorneys can help clients cope with the aftermath and reach amicable resolution of legal issues no matter who they represent. Being a registered civil and domestic mediator, alternative dispute resolution provides the opportunity to furnish practical advice that facilitates reasonable solutions., 2011
