Joseph R. May

Joseph May is the founder and owner of Joe May Law, LLC, a full-service law firm that focuses on bankruptcy law, business law, family law, personal injury law and criminal law. With two convenient offices in Hebron and Valparaiso, the firm serves clients in Jasper, Lake, LaPorte, Marshall, Newton, Porter, St. Joseph and Starke counties in Indiana, as well as in the Chicagoland area of Illinois.

Born and raised in Indiana, Mr. May graduated with honors and high distinction from Indiana University Bloomington. He then earned his Juris Doctor from Valparaiso University.

Prior to attending college, Mr. May served in the United States Marine Corps, where he received numerous awards for bravely serving our country. He brings that same fight and integrity to the practice of law. He firmly believes that he has the duty to fight for the rights of others.

Mr. May has extensive experience in both civil and criminal matters, and holds licenses to practice in both Indiana and Illinois. He is an active member of St. Paul Catholic Church and has a strong community involvement. When not practicing law or volunteering his time to help others, he enjoys spending time with his wife, two daughters and Bloomington, the family dog.
