Matthew Bretz is a native of Hutchinson, Kansas. He received a B.S. from Kansas State University, where he taught both classic and contemporary physics. He graduated from Pepperdine University School of Law and began working for Engstrom Lipscomb and Lack, of Erin Brockovich, The Twilight Zone, and Delta Force II fame.
Mr. Bretz moved back to Kansas and started serving his hometown community over 25 years ago. Since then, Bretz Injury Law has recovered over $300 Million for their injured clients. He handles a wide variety of injury cases from car and truck accidents to premises liability. Mr. Bretz’ service goes beyond the local community as he is very passionate about drunk and drugged driving prevention and serves on the national board of directors for MADD – Mothers Against Drunk Driving. He also volunteers time with the United Way, the Red Cross, and the Training and Evaluation Center of Hutchinson.
Mr. Bretz is married to his wife of 29 years, Amy, and they have two compassionate and driven daughters, Lauren and Hannah. Lauren completed a master’s degree in speech language pathology two years ago and is currently in law school at the University of Kansas. Hannah graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in 2020 and is currently attending Brooklyn Law School in New York.
