Chadler E. Colgan

Chadler E. Colgan is a family law, and business litigation attorney serving the people of Johnson, Leavenworth, and Wyandotte Counties in Kansas. He also handles probate and estate planning, elder law and consumer law cases along with appellate practice. Under his primary family law practice, he represents clients in cases related to divorce, marital separation, child custody, paternity, child support, mediation, guardian ad litem, guardianship, adoption and child in need of care.

Mr. Colgan is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri, the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas, the state of Kansas and the state of Missouri. In 1997, he graduated from the University of Missouri Kansas City with a Bachelor of Arts and a major in political science. He then attended Washburn University School of Law, graduating with Dean's Honors where he was a member of the Washburn Law Journal and earned a Juris Doctor in 2000.

A member of the Johnson, Leavenworth and Wyandotte County Bar Associations, the Kansas Bar Association and was published in the Missouri Criminal Practice guide. With extensive experience in real estate law and cases of title disputes, he previously represented clients on felony and misdemeanor charges for those who had been accused of committing a crime.

Mr. Colgan has given oral arguments in the Kansas Supreme Court, Court of Appeals and state district courts and has experience in criminal and civil trials. While he is known for coming up with creative solutions to settle cases, he is also prepared to aggressively litigate in court to protect his clients and their interests.
