Stephanie E. Goodenow
Attorney Profile
Top Rated Family Law Attorney in Lenexa, KS
Selected to Rising Stars: 2010 - 2012
The founder of Goodenow Law, LLC, Stephanie E. Goodenow focuses her practice primarily on divorce and other family law matters, and her experience extends to probate and estate planning matters as well. Her firm is located in Lenexa, Kansas, and she provides representation to clients throughout the greater Kansas City metropolitan area. Ms. Goodenow has been admitted to practice before all Kansas state courts since 2000, and she is also admitted to practice in neighboring Missouri as well as before the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas.
Many of Ms. Goodenow’s clients are people whose marriages have broken down, and they are now having to face such issues as parenting time, the division of marital assets and debts, child support, and alimony. In most cases, they are able to reach an accord on some or all of these matters through negotiations, and Ms. Goodenow often handles these directly with counsel for the opposing party. However, when negotiations have broken down and mediation sessions have been unfruitful, she is an experienced advocate for her clients before family court judges.
Other clients have already had their marriages legally dissolved, and for them, Ms. Goodenow provides assistance when they are seeking to have existing support or parenting court orders modified or enforced. Her family law experience has also encompassed adoptions as well as paternity disputes and establishment, and she also helps victims of domestic violence obtain protective orders from the court.
Ms. Goodenow attended the University of Kansas School of Law, where she served on the Kansas Journal of Law and Public Policy before graduating in 2000. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and sits on the editorial board of its Journal of the AAML.
