After graduating from Kansas State University in 1970, Mr. Cornwell served three years with the U.S. Marine Corps as a first lieutenant before attending law school. He then enrolled in Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, obtaining his Juris Doctor in 1976. The following year, the Kansas Bar Association admitted him to practice.
