Brian L. Leininger

Brian Leininger has dedicated his career since 2001 to the defense of people charged with DUI, Driving Under the Influence of Drugs, and DUI-related batteries and homicides. It's hard to imagine a more experienced and highly-trained DUI defense lawyer than Brian Leininger. As an Assistant District Attorney and City Prosecutor for nine years, Brian prosecuted DUI, Vehicular Battery and DUI Manslaughter cases. He went on to serve as the General Counsel and Legal Adviser to the Kansas Highway Patrol, where he taught DUI law and methods to the KHP and other police all around Kansas. Brian is a trained practitioner of the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and is an SFST instructor. Brian is the only lawyer in Kansas who has completed the training to be a Drug Recogntion Expert (DRE). DREs are the police officers called in to examine people suspected of driving under the influence of drugs other than alcohol. He is also trained to operate the Intoxilyzer breath testing device.

Mr. Leininger’s educational foundation is exceptional, with a J.D. from Washburn University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from the University of Northern Iowa. His career began with a role as a Research Attorney for the Kansas Court of Appeals, before moving on to being an ADA in Wyandotte County, Kansas. Since founding Leininger Law Offices in 2001, he has been devoted to defending individuals charged with DUI and related offenses.
