James R. Shetlar

For nearly half a century, James R. Shetlar has been at the forefront of providing unblemished legal representation to his clients across Kansas and Missouri, with added emphasis on giving them all the support they need and resolving their legal issues expeditiously and in an amicable manner. A partner at the SHETLAR LAW FIRM in Overland Park, Kansas, he handles a wide variety of personal injury matters, including motor vehicle accidents, truck accidents, boat wrecks, pedestrian accidents, catastrophic injuries and construction accidents, as well as medical malpractice and workers’ compensation.

First foraying into becoming a deft attorney, Mr. Shetler enrolled in the Washburn University School of Law and bolstered his legal acumen, and strengthened his legal foundation to help his clients today. He received his Juris Doctor in 1974, and in the same year, he obtained his license to practice law in Kansas. Prior to attending law school, he graduated with his bachelor’s degree from Pittsburg State University in 1969. He is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Kansas.
