Scott C. Gyllenborg brings a unique perspective to his criminal defense practice, having served as an Assistant District Attorney in Johnson County, Kansas. As the founding partner of Gyllenborg & Brown, P.A., he represents clients in federal, state, and municipal courts, handling a wide range of cases from drug possession to DUI. His experience also extends to matters involving parole and probation violations, arrest record expungements, and criminal investigations of all Kansas federal, state, and municipal crimes.

Scott holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Kansas School of Law. He is admitted to practice in the states of Kansas and Missouri as well as the United States District Court for the District of Kansas, the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri, and the United States Supreme Court.

For eight years, Scott taught Trial Advocacy to second-year and third-year law students at the University of Kansas School of Law as an adjunct professor. He is a member of American Mensa and Mensa International and a former trustee of his alma mater, the Barstow School in Kansas City, Missouri.

Scott is the President-elect of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association (KCMBA). He is a Past President of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Foundation (KCMBF) and the Johnson County Bar Association (JCBA). Scott served on the membership committee of the National Conference of Bar Presidents. In addition, he is a member of the Kansas Bar Association, the Missouri Bar, the American Bar Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Kansas Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, where he is chairman of the Continuing Legal Education Committee. He is a Fellow of KCMBA, the Johnson County Bar Foundation, and the Kansas Bar Association; a life member of the Tenth Circuit Historical Society; and a Master of the Inn of the Earl E. O’Connor American Inn of Court.
