Ms. Whitsell completed her undergraduate studies at the South Dakota State University, graduating magna cum laude with her Bachelor of Arts degree in English, with a minor in Spanish. She then enrolled at the University of South Dakota Law School and received her Juris Doctor in 2019. The same year she graduated from law school, she obtained her license to practice law in South Dakota and later in Kansas. Within her legal community, she is a member of the Kansas Bar Association, the Wichita Bar Association (Young Lawyers Section), the South Dakota Bar Association and the Kansas Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
