Attorney Profile

David F. Latherow is a partner at Ashland, Kentucky-based Williams, Hall & Latherow, LLP. Representing individual and business clients throughout the state, he focuses his practice primarily on various types of civil litigation. Admitted to practice in Kentucky since 1995, he is also admitted to practice in Ohio, before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky, and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit.

A portion of Mr. Latherow's practice is centered on medical malpractice litigation. In this regard, he provides defense representation to health care practitioners and facilities in cases involving surgical errors, misdiagnoses, medication mistakes and other forms of alleged professional negligence. Mr. Latherow has also represented insurance companies in these types of cases, and he has also defended them in other types of litigation, including property loss or damage claims and employment-related issues such as discrimination and wrongful termination. In addition to his courtroom work, his experience in mediation often allows him to help his clients obtain favorable results on these matters through the use of that form of alternative dispute resolution.

Mr. Latherow has a business and commercial law litigation practice as well, and his experience in this regard has encompassed breach of contract actions and other business disputes. His fellow professionals have taken note of his successful track record in all of these endeavors as well as his high degree of ethics, and they have awarded him an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Avvo.

After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Notre Dame, Mr. Latherow attended the Ohio Northern University Claude W. Pettit College of Law, and he served on the Ohio Northern University Law Review before being awarded his Juris Doctor in 1995.
