Todd is a 2019 Kentucky Top 50 Super Lawyer, who is dedicated to professional excellence.  As a Member of Hemmer DeFrank Wessels PLLC in Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky and with more than two decades of experience, Todd V. McMurtry concentrates his practice on complex litigation in defamation, business, real estate, construction and municipal law cases. He also serves as outside general counsel to a number of privately held businesses and is the City Attorney for two Kentucky cities.  Mr. McMurtry is proud to represent a broad base of clients throughout Kentucky and Ohio.

Mr. McMurtry has earned a strong reputation as a Civil Litigator.  He has tried many cases to both juries and judges, and through the appeals process.  Trained as a mediator through the prestigious Harvard Mediation Program, Mr. McMurtry brings this skill-set to the aid of his business and litigation clients.  He has also served as a mediator for business, personal injury and construction disputes.  Mr. McMurtry has earned the respect of the region’s legal community.  In 2013, he was elected President of the Northern Kentucky Bar Association. He now serves on the Board of Governors for the Kentucky Bar Association. 

Mr. McMurtry is a graduate of Covington Latin School, Centre College, and the Salmon P. Chase College of Law.  He is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for both the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky; the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit. Outside of his practice, Mr. McMurtry has been involved in several professional organizations, including the Northern Kentucky Bar Association, the Covington Latin School Board of Education, and the Salmon P. Chase American Inn of Court. 

Mr. McMurtry is the proud father of three and has been married to his wife Cari for 32 years.
