Focusing his practice on insurance coverage issues, Austin Mehr is a partner at Mehr Fairbanks & Peterson Trial Lawyers, PLLC. Mr. Mehr's client base consists of policy holders whose claims have been delayed or denied in bad faith by their insurance carriers. The types of policies that he has worked on have included life, homeowners, property damage and disability, both individually acquired as well as those provided through a client's employer and thus governed by the federal Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974. Mr. Mehr has a proven track record of success in obtaining significant compensation for his clients, both through jury awards as well as through settlements that he has negotiated out of court. During his career, he has secured several judgments in excess of $1 million, including one in 2018 in the amount of more than $15 million against a liability insurance carrier. A recipient of a Bachelor of Science from Murray State University, he obtained his legal education at the University of Kentucky College of Law and was awarded his Juris Doctor in 1983.
