Kellie M. Collins

Kellie M. Collins serves as managing partner of the Peterson Law Office in Lexington, Kentucky, where she zealously represents individuals who have suffered harm through no fault of their own. With a practice encompassing automobile and truck accidents, premises liability, medical malpractice, wrongful death, personal injury, insurance bad faith and product liability, she applies her comprehensive understanding of insurance companies’ policies and procedures to secure just outcomes for her clients.

Born and raised in Eastern Kentucky, Ms. Collins grew up in Salyersville before moving to Morehead to complete her secondary education. She earned her Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude in communications with a minor in political science from the University of Kentucky. She then continued at the University of Kentucky College of Law, graduating in 2008. Licensed in Kentucky the same year, she was admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit and the United States District Courts for the Western and Eastern Districts of Kentucky. Additionally, she is active in the Kentucky Justice Association and the Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys.

Although the daughter of a plaintiff’s attorney, Ms. Collins began her career defending insurers in complex litigation, handling bad faith actions and coverage disputes for eight years. Rising to partner/shareholder at a regional defense firm in Lexington, she ultimately chose to follow her passion for client advocacy. 

In joining Peterson Law Office alongside a law school classmate, Ms. Collins recommitted to a client-first ethos centered on personalized attention, meticulous preparation and relentless advocacy. A respected voice in Kentucky legal circles, she delivered a continuing-education presentation on bad faith law in Kentucky at the National Business Institute in September 2016. Her peers commend her for cultivating a client-centric practice marked by empathy, clarity, and an unwavering drive to guide clients through the most challenging periods of their lives.
