A partner at Landrum & Shouse LLP, Pierce W. Hamblin divides his practice between complex civil litigation and alternative dispute resolution. Working out of the firm's offices in Lexington, Kentucky, he provides representation to individual and business clients throughout the Commonwealth. Admitted to practice in Kentucky since 1977, Mr. Hamblin is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit.

In his civil trial and appellate practice, Mr. Hamblin furnishes representation to insurance companies and other defendants in a wide variety of areas. Many of his cases have been personal injury and wrongful death claims, and they have arisen out of incidents involving premises liability, aviation crashes, animal bites, truck and other motor vehicle collisions, defective medical products and devices, and railroad accidents, among others. Mr. Hamblin has also assisted insurance companies that have been the subject of bad faith and other coverage disputes, and his insurance defense work has encompassed other types of policies as well, including errors and omissions, professional malpractice, and directors' and officers' liability.

Mr. Hamblin’s alternative dispute resolution practice has included both mediation and arbitration. He has served as a neutral in thousands of cases during his distinguished career, and he has also provided advice and counsel to clients who are going through the mediation process. The high quality of Mr. Hamblin’s work in both of his practice areas has earned him a great deal of recognition from his fellow attorneys, including an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell and a 10.0 “Superb” peer-review rating through Avvo. A graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Law, he has also been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America.
