John E. Hanley, II

Attorney John E. Hanley II is a co-founder of Valenti Hanley PLLC in Louisville, Kentucky. Mr. Hanley practices in a variety of business law related areas and advises clients in the Louisville area and throughout Kentucky. The majority of Mr. Hanley's practice involves acting as outside general counsel to businesses spanning a variety of industries.  As such, Mr. Hanley routinely advises his business clients on all of their legal matters, including but not limited to, corporate governance issues, employment issues, contractual matters, business transactions, and commercial and employment litigation matters. 

Additionally, he represents plaintiffs and defendants in disputes involving contracts, directors and officer’s liability, equine law, insurance coverage issues, non-compete agreements, and the Uniform Commercial Code. He has extensive litigation experience at the trial and appellate levels, in both state and federal courts.

Serving in many leadership positions within his community, Mr. Hanley is a former board member for organizations including the Actors Theatre of Louisville, Beacon House Kentucky, Big Spring Country Club, the Kentucky Derby Museum and the Louisville Bar Association. He is a former commissioner for the City of Glenview Hills and is an active member of the Louisville and Kentucky Bar Associations.

Mr. Hanley received a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and earned his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. He holds licenses to practice law before all Kentucky state courts, the U.S. district courts for the eastern and western districts of Kentucky and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit.
