Lisa Koch Bryant maintains an expansive practical knowledge of many aspects of bankruptcy law, commercial litigation and creditors’ rights, as well as animal law. From Tilford Dobbins & Schmidt, PLLC, in Louisville, Kentucky, she serves clients throughout the surrounding region, and she is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Western and Eastern Districts of Kentucky, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of Indiana, and the United States Court of Appeals for the 6th and 7th Circuits.

Ms. Bryant completed her undergraduate studies at the Centre College of Kentucky, graduating with her Bachelor of Arts degrees in Religion and English. She went on to attend the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where her academic prowess was evident in her induction into the Order of the Coif and being the recipient of numerous Book Awards. She also served on the Editorial Board of the University of Cincinnati Law Review. After receiving her Juris Doctor, she became licensed to practice law in Kentucky and Indiana.

Throughout her illustrious career, Ms. Bryant has provided eminent legal counsel for many large corporations, including Farm Credit Mid-America, Citizens Union Bank, Farmers Tobacco Warehouse and Peoples Bank & Trust Co., to name a few. With prior experience as head of litigation for the Federal Land Bank of Louisville, she understands the intricacies of her clients’ legal needs and works tirelessly to help them get the results they deserve in the most cost-effective manner.

Ms. Bryant has tried numerous cases (both jury and bench trials) in both the state and federal court systems, and has been involved in many appeals which have resulted in numerous published opinions being rendered in her clients' favor. She recently was successful on an appeal in the Kentucky Supreme Court involving linen priorities under Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code, which case was considered of such importance that the Kentucky Bankers Association filed an Amicus Curiae Brief in support of her position. Ms. Bryant also recently combined her interest in creditors rights and animal law, when she represented a national animal welfare organization and collected the largest dollar recovery that her client had ever received. She also serves as a Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Trustee in the Western District of Kentucky.

Ms. Bryant is also very active in Continuing Legal Education and has served as the Chair of the Louisville Bar Association's Bankruptcy Section and the Chair of the Kentucky Bar Association's Animal Law Section. She has spoken frequently on both bankruptcy and animal law at the Kentucky Bar Association's Annual Convention and its Annual Kentucky Law Updates. She has also recently presented on the law about service animals at a conference sponsored by the United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Kentucky.

For her many contributions, she has been peer-review rated AV Preeminent* through Martindale-Hubbell, the organization’s highest rating.
