Peter Catalano

From the law firm Straw-Boone Doheny Banks Mudd Catalano & McKinney, PLLC, attorney Peter Catalano represents clients in the Louisville metro area in family law matters with a combination of strength and compassion. He zealously handles divorce, child support, parenting time and other family law cases.

Mr. Catalano acknowledges that he is simultaneously advocating on behalf of his clients’ loved ones and the community at large. He is committed to helping families avoid this by resolving conflicts through mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution, giving his clients greater say in the final decision. He takes care to collaborate with others, communicate clearly and find solutions that satisfy everyone.

Previously a law clerk at the firm, Mr. Catalano became an associate attorney in October 2017. A native of Nashville, Tennessee, he earned a B.A. in political science from the College of Charleston's Honors College. Afterward, he became a lawyer after enrolling in the University of Louisville's Brandeis School of Law. He is a licensed attorney in Kentucky (2017) and Indiana (2021). He served as a client advocate in a variety of contexts while he was a law student at the Robert and Sue Ellen Ackerson Law Clinic, including hearings for emergency protective orders and divorces.

Mr. Catalano is quite involved in his local community. He is affiliated with the Family Law Sections of the Kentucky Bar Association and the Louisville Bar Association (LBA). He is a member of Maryhurst Inc.'s Associate Board; he has written for the LBA's Bar Briefs; and he volunteers at the LBA’s Pro Se Divorce Clinic.
