    Former federal prosecutor Scott C. Cox is a partner at Cox and Mazzoli Law Offices in Louisville, Kentucky. Mr. Cox practices federal criminal law, handling matters involving drug violations, white collar crime and other misdemeanors and felonies. His practice encompasses the Louisville and Lexington, Kentucky, regions.

    Mr. Cox has been a licensed attorney since 1985. He is admitted in all Kentucky state courts and before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit.

    Before founding his practice, Mr. Cox served as a JAG officer in the U.S. Army Reserve and was captain of the Kentucky National Guard. He practiced as an assistant United States attorney and served as counsel for the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary Subcommittee on the Courts.

    Mr. Cox has served in various leadership roles over the course of his career. He is a former president of the Federal Bar Association, Kentucky Chapter, and former Vice Chairman of the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance. He also previously served on the board of the Western Kentucky Federal Community Defender.

    Active in the legal community, Mr. Cox is a member of the Louisville Bar Association and previously served on the Association’s Board of Directors. He also belongs to the Kentucky Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the American College of Trial Lawyers and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He also presently serves as the Chairman of the Louisville Arena Authority, the body that supervises the KFC YUM! Center, home to the University of Louisville Women’s and Men’s basketball teams and a venue for concerts and other entertainment.  

    Mr. Cox earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky in 1981. He received his law degree from the University of Louisville Louis D. Brandeis School of Law.
