Tony Colyer

Tony Colyer is an attorney and the owner of the Colyer Law Firm located in Louisville, Kentucky. He represents clients throughout the state of Kentucky with matters involving civil litigation and personal injury, including car wrecks, premises liability, animal bites and wrongful death.

Mr. Colyer has focused on injured victims throughout his entire career in civil litigation. He maintains that victims of personal injury and other vulnerable persons should be shielded by the legal system. His experience includes several years of defending disputes on behalf of insurance companies as well. This knowledge broadens his perspective and enhances his capacity to speak for his clients’ demands.

Although Mr. Colyer acknowledges that some matters necessitate litigation and trial, he believes that a skilled trial lawyer should focus on getting outcomes quickly while keeping the clients’ costs to a minimum. Nevertheless, he won't hold back from going to trial whenever needed.

A graduate of the University of Kentucky, Mr. Colyer has a bachelor’s degree in political science and government. He attended the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville and obtained his Juris Doctor in 2008. He is licensed to practice in Kentucky and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky.

Extremely active in the legal community, Mr. Colyer is a member of the Louisville Bar Association, the Kentucky Bar Association, the Board of Tax Appeals’ Kentucky Claims Commission, the Kentucky Justice Association, the American Association of Justice, the American Inns of Court, and the Kentucky Bar Association Well-Being Committee.

Mr. Colyer co-founded the St. Xavier Emerging Leaders Society and is a fervent supporter of the St. Patrick Church. He firmly believes in giving back to his community. He is closely involved with other organizations and charities as well. He has received a “Very Good” rating on Avvo.
