William R. Johnson

Attorney William R. Johnson is the founder of Johnson Law Firm in Pikeville, Kentucky. Mr. Johnson devotes his practice to personal injury law, representing plaintiffs throughout Kentucky who have been injured or have lost a loved one due to negligence.

Mr. Johnson earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Pikeville. He received his law degree from the University of Louisville Louis D. Brandeis School of Law.

Mr. Johnson has been a licensed attorney since 1998. He is admitted in all Kentucky state courts as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky.

Before becoming a licensed attorney, Mr. Johnson owned his own DOT drug and alcohol testing business. He also did oil and gas well drilling and served as a compliance expert on state and federal regulations for natural gas pipelines.

Over the course of his career as a personal injury attorney, Mr. Johnson has secured many substantial verdicts and settlements for his clients. Because of these accomplishments, he earned a membership in the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the distinction of being named one of the “top 100 trial lawyers” by The National Trial Lawyers.

An active member of his legal community, Mr. Johnson belongs to the Pike County Bar Association, the Kentucky Bar Association, the Kentucky Justice Association, the American Bar Association and the American Association for Justice. He is a fellow of the University of Kentucky and a member of the Attorneys Information Exchange Group. In addition, he is an instrument-rated private pilot and belongs to the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.
