Steven J. Moore

Licensed to practice law in Louisiana in 1991, Steven J. Moore handles criminal cases on behalf of people in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and the surrounding areas. He founded Steven J. Moore, LLC, because he wanted to guide people facing charges, such as DUI, sex crimes, white collar offenses, drug charges and murder, through the criminal justice system. With an understanding that a client’s future hinges on the work he does, Mr. Moore is committed to providing honest representation, constructing a solid defense and serving as an advocate through every phase of the process.

In 1987, Mr. Moore received a Bachelor of Arts from Louisiana State University. He then graduated cum laude with a Juris Doctor from the Southern University Law Center in 1991. That same year, he was admitted to practice before the U.S. Federal Court.

Now, decades later, Mr. Moore strives to protect client’s rights. The sooner clients hire Mr. Moore, the more effective he can be in clearing their name, reducing their charges or minimizing their sentencing. From the moment someone is arrested, he starts working on a strategy that centers around their specific situation.

Highly complex cases involving manslaughter, violent crimes or internet activity require the assistance of an experienced legal professional. Mr. Moore has an established role in the local legal community. Therefore, he knows how to work with the prosecutors and judges assigned to a client’s case. He pulls in credible witnesses and others to testify on a client’s behalf. Further, and perhaps most importantly, Mr. Moore knows the Louisiana and federal criminal codes well, giving him the insight to recognize when the law is and is not applied appropriately to a case.
