    William Robert Gill is an experienced attorney who handles personal injury claims and serious criminal defense matters. He is a co-founder of the law firm Manasseh Gill Knipe & Bélanger in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

    A former lawyer for the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps, Mr. Gill worked as a prosecutor at a military base in California and as a defense attorney at a base in Hawaii. During his time in the U.S. Army, he participated in court-martial trials dealing with drugs, sexual assault, rape, attempted murder, murder, child molestation, conduct unbecoming and other serious charges.

    Following his honorable discharge from the military, Mr. Gill practiced as a criminal defense attorney with one of Louisiana’s largest criminal defense firms before opening his own criminal defense and personal injury practice.

    A graduate of the Southern University Law Center, Mr. Gill is currently admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, the Louisiana Supreme Court, the United States Army Court of Criminal Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. He also has pro hac vice status allowing him to take cases in Texas, Mississippi and California.

    In addition to his law practice handling both military and civilian cases, Mr. Gill is a member of professional organizations such as the Louisiana State Bar Association. He has received various honors during his career, including being asked to attend the Spence Trial Lawyers College in Wyoming. He also received various awards and honors while serving in the military including the Army Commendation Medal and two Army Achievement Medals.
