Carol T. Richards is a board-certified family law specialist by the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization Specialists and a senior attorney at The Richards Law Firm, LLC, in Covington, Louisiana. Yiannopoulos, contributing to the Louisiana Civil Law Treatise on Property, the Treatise on Personal Servitudes and three editions of the Louisiana Civil Code. She also holds an undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University and an M.A. in linguistics from The University of Texas at Austin.
Ms. Richards has a long record of professional leadership and public service. In 1989, she was appointed to the Louisiana Supreme Court Task Force on Women in the Courts. She is a past chair of the Family Law Section of the Louisiana Association of Justice and a former president of the Association for Women Attorneys in New Orleans, where she received a lifetime membership.
Additionally, Ms. Richards has served on the Louisiana State Bar Association Ethics Advisory Service Subcommittee and the Committee for Continuing Legal Education. She has served on the Louisiana State Law Institute Committee on Child Custody since 2009 and is active in the Louisiana Association for Justice and in local bar committees, including the Rules Committee and the 22nd Judicial District Inn of Court.
