Daniel J. Ginnetty

Daniel J. Ginnetty is an attorney at Hogan Attorneys in Hammond, Louisiana. He focuses his practice on criminal defense and family law. He provides client-centered representation to individuals and families facing some of the most serious and personal legal challenges, drawing on years of courtroom experience and a deep commitment to advocacy.

Mr. Ginnetty graduated from William & Mary Law School in Virginia in 2015. During law school, he developed a strong passion for criminal defense through an international internship in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, with International Bridges to Justice, a nongovernmental organization dedicated to strengthening indigent defense systems in countries with developing or fragile legal infrastructures.

Mr. Ginnetty’s professional background reflects a long-standing dedication to public service and civil rights. After law school, he moved to Lafayette, Louisiana, through Gideon’s Promise, an organization committed to improving public defender services nationwide. In 2020, he joined the St. Tammany Public Defender’s Office to be closer to his adopted home base in Hammond, where he continued to build extensive trial experience before joining Hogan Attorneys in 2023.

Throughout his career, Mr. Ginnetty has earned a reputation as a skilled and compassionate advocate. Since 2015, he has represented more than a thousand clients in matters ranging from Child in Need of Care (CINC) proceedings to cases carrying potential life-without-parole sentences. His experience spans every stage of litigation, and he approaches each case with careful preparation, strategic focus and respect for the individual circumstances of his clients.

Mr. Ginnetty is licensed to practice law in Louisiana and regularly appears in state courts handling criminal and family law matters. Originally from Massachusetts, he has called Louisiana home since 2015. Before attending law school, he taught for two years at a university in Inner Mongolia, China, and he speaks some Mandarin Chinese and Spanish. His diverse background and global perspective inform his thoughtful, empathetic approach to legal advocacy and client service.
