Mitchell D. Monsour, Jr.

The founder of The Monsour Firm, LLC, Mitchell D. Monsour Jr. is a reputed name in the field of insurance coverage, will and trusts, real estate law and general litigation. Licensed to practice in Louisiana since 2010, he is based in New Orleans and has earned invaluable experience pursuing private practice before opening his firm. Focusing his practice on managing matters related to wills and trusts, and real estate transactions, he seeks to provide comprehensive legal advice to homeowner and condominium associations in a variety of matters. 

Guiding his clients through a wide spectrum of legal issues such as document amendment and governance, Mr. Monsour assists them in making routine operational decisions, annual meetings and enforcement of rules. Up-to-date with the laws that govern the handling of the administrative and functional operations of such associations, he also extends his help in transitioning them from developer to member control. 

During his early days, Mr. Monsour clerked at the North Mississippi Rural Legal Services, the U.S. Coast Guard 8th District Legal Assistance Office and the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office. In addition to his proficiency in other practice areas, he offers practical and lucrative solutions to problems pertaining to complex real estate truncation, both residential and commercial. Furthermore, he exhibits his legal prowess in the fields of estate planning in the drafting and maintenance of wills and trusts, along with other litigation. 

Mr. Monsour holds a Property and Casualty Broker License from the Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking – District of Columbia. He is a graduate of the University of Mississippi, completing his bachelor’s degree in business administration in managerial finance and insurance risk management (2003). Later, in 2009, he completed a Juris Doctor from the Mississippi College School of Law, where he was also an active part of the International Law Society, the Public Interest Law Group and the Federal Bar Association. Apart from his license to practice in Louisiana, he is also admitted to Mississippi (2011) and North Carolina (2020).
