Amber Sheppard (she/her), along with her service dog Tubbs, is a Louisiana and Mississippi licensed attorney known for her practical, people-first approach to business, entertainment and NIL, and intellectual property law. Based on Louisiana’s Northshore, Amber represents creatives, entrepreneurs, authors, athletes, and nonprofits across the South, helping them protect their brands, streamline operations, and scale sustainably. Her practice focuses on intellectual property, trademark law, business formation and compliance, workers’ compensation defense, and emerging issues in AI and digital ownership.
Amber’s legal philosophy, Be Fierce and Kind®, captures her belief that zealous advocacy and civility are not mutually exclusive.
Before founding her own firm, Amber served as Director of Operations for a national gym management company, giving her firsthand insight into the operational challenges business owners face. She uses that experience to craft legal strategies that support growth rather than stall it. As a fractional general counsel and strategic advisor, she brings a unique blend of business acumen, creativity, and humor to every client relationship.
Amber’s work has earned national recognition: she has been named an American Bar Association Top 40 Under 40 honoree, the Louisiana State Bar Association’s Top Young Lawyer (2026), an ABA Diversity Fellow, and featured as an ABA Members Who Inspire (2026). She is currently the ABA's USPTO Trademark Practices and Policies Committee Chair (2026). She also serves on the Louisiana Business Interest Association’s Emerging Leaders Council and was awarded three pro bono awards from the LSBA for her work throughout her career.
Internationally Amber has been published on copyright law (2025) and is a member of the International Trademark Association.
Passionate about legal accessibility, Amber translates complex “legalese” into plain English, ensuring clients understand their rights and responsibilities. She frequently speaks nationwide on trademarks, intellectual property, service dog and emotional support animal laws, typically joined by her service dog, Tubbs, who has become something of a legal celebrity herself.
Outside of the office, Amber channels the same focus that once earned her nine weightlifting state records and four state titles into advocating for client success. Amber was also the first female attorney registered as an NIL agent in Louisiana. With a career built on strategy, personality, and community impact, she proves that fierce advocacy and genuine kindness can (and should) coexist in modern law.
