R. Scott Buhrer has more than 24 years of experience as a family law and succession attorney in Louisiana, having handled hundreds of cases involving divorce, child custody and support, relocation, property division, alimony, and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. Clients also trust him to represent their interests in complicated matters involving wills, trusts, probate, contested successions and elder law. At the Buhrer Law Firm, Mr. Buhrer accepts clients in the New Orleans and Metairie metropolitan area as well as the Jefferson and Orleans parishes.

After graduating with distinction from Tulane University in 1982, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in political science and Latin American studies, Mr. Buhrer earned his Juris Doctor in 1986 from Tulane University Law School, graduating cum laude. In 1995, he earned a Master of Business Administration from Tulane University. Mr. Buhrer is admitted to practice law in Louisiana and before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit.
Mr. Buhrer is an active member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and the Jefferson Bar Association.
