David P. Vicknair

David P. Vicknair is a partner at Scott Vicknair Personal Injury Lawyers, in New Orleans, Louisiana. His legal practice encompasses many areas, including personal injury litigation, maritime injury litigation, and property damage and casualty loss litigation against insurance companies. He also represents individuals and small businesses in class action litigation, as well as in construction and business litigation.

Additionally, Mr. Vicknair handles general litigation matters for individuals and small businesses. In his illustrious career, Mr. Vicknair has handled appeals across various judicial bodies, including the Louisiana Circuit Courts of Appeal, the Louisiana Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit. His cases have spanned business litigation, personal injury, multidistrict litigation and property casualty claims. He has been designated as class counsel in several consumer-based class actions and has significantly contributed to prominent multidistrict litigation class actions in Louisiana, such as those involving the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill, In re: Xarelto, In re: Taxotere and Chinese Drywall.

Mr. Vicknair graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Nicholls State University in 2007, subsequently earning his Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans School of Law in May 2011. He was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar Association (LSBA) that same year. He also serves on the advisory board of the Colonel Athletic Association, the primary fundraising entity for Nicholls State University Athletics, demonstrating his ongoing support for his alma mater.

While at law school, Mr. Vicknair was an active member of the Loyola Moot Court and was chosen as an oralist for both the Cultural Heritage Moot Court team – which secured first place at DePaul University’s National Cultural Heritage Moot Court competition – and Loyola’s National Moot Court team. His academic excellence was recognized through his induction into the Order of the Barristers and receipt of the Law Excellence Award for achieving the highest grades in constitutional law, advanced constitutional law and product liability.

In addition to his professional duties in the office and courtroom, Mr. Vicknair has actively supported and advocated for Volunteers of America since his graduation from law school. Furthermore, he is a keen associate of the LSBA’s Professionalism Committee and regularly conducts seminars and continuing education sessions for attorneys and real estate professionals.
