William Ward Murray, Jr. (better known as "Billy") grew up in Shreveport and graduated from Caddo Magnet High School in 2001. He graduated from Louisiana State University Shreveport, summa cum laude, with a B.A. in accounting in 2004 and an M.B.A. in 2005. Billy graduated from the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 2010, earning his J.D. and Diploma of Civil Law. During his time at LSU Law, Billy served as President of the Trial Advocacy Board, was a member of the Moot Court Board, won First Place in the Fall 2008 Ira S. Flory Trial Competition, and was a member of multiple National Championship trial advocacy teams. Billy joined Nelson & Hammons in July of 2012. He has been selected as a Super Lawyers Rising Star every year from 2018-2023 and voted as a "Top Attorney" in SB Magazine every year from 2011-2026. In his spare time, Billy enjoys running, watching the Philadelphia 76ers, Philadelphia Phillies, and Pittsburgh Steelers, reading, watching professional wrestling, going to concerts, and spending time with his wife, Allison, and two children, Will and Norah.
