Corinne Donohue Adams’s practice primarily focuses on bankruptcy and litigation. She represents corporate and consumer debtors, secured creditors, unsecured creditors, trustees and equity security holders in all aspects of cases under Chapter 11 or Chapter 7 of the United States Bankruptcy Code. Her practice involves drafting the full range of pleadings to navigate her clients through the bankruptcy process, including litigating on behalf of her clients, negotiating settlements, appearing and arguing in court, and conducting and defending depositions and other discovery matters. Mrs. Adams also handles each of these aspects on behalf of assignees in assignment for the benefit of creditors matters.

Additionally, Mrs. Adams represents clients in the transactional side of her practice.  She assists clients in closing on multimillion-dollar loans, forming entities, and drafting organizational documents for entities. Mrs. Adams also volunteers to handle matters on a pro bono basis.  

Prior to joining Yumkas, Vidmar, Sweeney & Mulrenin, LLC, Mrs. Adams served as the term law clerk to the Honorable Robert E. Grossman in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York. During her federal clerkship, Mrs. Adams handled hundreds of matters in cases under Chapters 7, 11, and 13. These matters involved a full range of issues arising under the Bankruptcy Code. As a judicial clerk, Mrs. Adams also assisted with mediations in Chapter 11 cases.

Mrs. Adams received her J.D., with honors, from St. John’s University School of Law, where she served as an Articles & Notes Editor of the American Bankruptcy Institute Law Review. Through her journal, Mrs. Adams published a blog and listserv on the implications of a bankruptcy case on practitioners. She also completed courses through the LL.M. in Bankruptcy program at St. John's, and earned a Dean’s Award for Excellence in Reorganization under Chapter 11. Also at St. John's, Mrs. Adams worked in a debtor-creditor litigation clinic where she represented elderly, low-income individuals. She received a B.A., summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, for a double major in government and law and women's and gender studies from Lafayette College. Mrs. Adams lives in Maryland.
