Maureen Glackin

A co-founder of Reinstein, Glackin & Herriott, LLC, Maureen Glackin focuses her practice on family law matters, and she represents clients throughout the greater District of Columbia metropolitan area from the firm’s offices in Bowie, Maryland. Ms. Glackin has been admitted to practice before all Maryland state courts since 2004, and she is also admitted to practice in California, Washington state and the District of Columbia.

Like many family law attorneys, a significant portion of Ms. Glackin’s practice involves her representation of people whose marriages are coming to an end. However, unlike most, she places a particular emphasis on military divorces and their particular laws and procedures, including the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act, the Uniformed Services Former Spouses’ Protection Act and the effect of divorces on military pensions.

Ms. Glackin handles civilian divorces as well, and she frequently uses her background and training in meditation and collaborative law to help her clients reach an accord on such issues as child custody and visitation, alimony, child support, and property division without having to go through a protracted and often divisive courtroom battle. Her successful track record in what are often emotional issues has led to her being selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America as well as to her receipt of a 10.0 “Superb” peer review rating through Avvo.

Ms. Glackin received a Bachelor of Arts from Villanova University, and in 1989, she was awarded her Juris Doctor from the Temple University Beasley School of Law. A fellow in the Maryland Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, she is frequently asked to deliver presentations on military divorce law to groups of fellow professionals.
