Associate managing partner Catherine Dickinson co-chairs the Litigation Department of Schlachman, Belsky, Weiner & Davey, P.A., in Baltimore. She applies her versatile legal background and the firm’s full capabilities to navigate challenging civil disputes in state and federal courts across Maryland. Her practice spans medical malpractice, professional negligence, automobile accidents, products and premises liability, and sexual assault and abuse litigation.
Ms. Dickinson’s innovative approach and perseverance have led to landmark outcomes, including Maryland’s first verdict against a national hotel chain for human trafficking. Clients and colleagues alike praise her tenacity, strategic insight and meticulous courtroom preparation.
After earning her B.A. from Villanova University, Ms. Dickinson earned her J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law, where she served as a judicial intern for the Maryland Judicial Institute and clerked for judges statewide, culminating in a clerkship under the Honorable Lynne A. Battaglia of the Maryland Court of Appeals. Her leadership on the Law Forum journal’s executive board and roles as a teaching scholar and research assistant refined her analytical and writing skills.
Following graduation, Ms. Dickinson clerked for the Honorable Robert E. Cahill Jr. in the Baltimore County Circuit Court, gaining exposure to a broad docket of civil and criminal matters. She then joined a leading defense litigation firm, representing corporations and individuals in personal injury suits. That defense perspective enables her to anticipate adversarial strategies and craft robust, client-focused theories of recovery.
Ms. Dickinson is named a Daily Record 2023 Leading Woman Under 40 and included on its Power List for medical malpractice and personal injury law. An adjunct professor at the University of Baltimore School of Law, she teaches trial advocacy and co-developed the seminar “Special Issues in Sexual Abuse Litigation.” She has also lectured on child sex abuse litigation, mentors mock trial teams from high school through law school and co-chaired the Walters Art Museum’s 2023 Annual Gala.
