Jacob Statman serves as lead attorney at Snider & Associates, LLC, in Baltimore, Maryland, where he directs a broad spectrum of the firm’s employment law practice. Adept at navigating both federal and private-sector EEO complaints, he manages matters ranging from employee discipline and labor contracts to collective bargaining negotiations.
Additionally, Mr. Statman spearheads complex wage-and-hour litigation, including Fair Labor Standards Act class and collective actions, representing hundreds of thousands of employees nationwide. Through strategic advocacy and rigorous case management, he has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars on behalf of his clients.
Academically accomplished, Mr. Statman earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law, where he distinguished himself as associate editor of the University of Baltimore Law Forum and as a student fellow in the Stephen L. Snyder Litigation Skills Program. He further refined his advocacy skills by completing a certificate of concentration in litigation and advocacy. Prior to law school, he graduated from Yeshiva College in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Mr. Statman is admitted to practice in the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia, as well as before the U.S. District Courts for the District of Maryland and the U.S. District Courts for the District of Columbia, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 4th Circuit and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Active in the legal community, Mr. Statman holds membership in the American Bar Association, the Maryland State Bar Association and the Metropolitan Washington Employment Lawyers Association. His thought leadership is evident in numerous publications and speaking engagements, including articles in the University of Baltimore Law Forum – Montgomery County Board of Education v. Horace Mann Insurance Co. (35 U. Balt. L.F. 167) and Design Kitchen & Baths v. Lagos (36 U. Balt. L.F. 173) – as well as presentations on reasonable accommodation in the federal workplace and on issues affecting deaf and hard-of-hearing employees in government.
