Kandace L. Scherr is an elder law and estate planning attorney in Baltimore, Maryland. The managing partner of Frank, Frank & Scherr, Maryland LLC, Ms. Scherr serves clients throughout the Baltimore metropolitan region, central and Maryland statewide.
Ms. Scherr advises Maryland residents on elder law and estate planning matters, including those involving estate and probate administration, Medicaid planning, special needs planning, trusts and wills. She has over 30 years of experience and provides compassionate and dedicated representation to every client, taking the time to understand each client’s unique situation.
Outside of her law practice, Ms. Scherr regularly speaks on elder law topics to various groups and organizations. Active in the elder law community, she is a Past Chair of the Maryland State Bar Association Elder Law & Disability Rights Section Council and is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. She was also honored to be selected as a 2023 Fellow of the Maryland Bar Foundation, recognized for demonstrating outstanding dedication to the welfare of her community, the administration of justice and contribution to maintaining the honor and integrity of the legal profession.
Additionally, Ms. Scherr belongs to the Maryland State Bar Association and the District of Columbia Bar. Her prior legal experience includes working as an associate attorney at two private Baltimore area firms before joining Frank, Frank & Scherr, LLC. She is past member of the Levindale Board of Directors.
Ms. Scherr earned a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art and received her law degree from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. She obtained her license to practice law in 1986. She is qualified to appear before all Maryland state courts, as well as in Washington, D.C. She is also an accredited attorney with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
