Kathleen Kerner

Katie Kerner is a Partner at Jenner Law, P.C. in Baltimore, Maryland. Katie focuses her practice on personal injury litigation, including product liability involving dangerous drugs and devices, medical and professional malpractice including therapy malpractice, and sexual abuse. Katie is a leading authority on legal and ethical issues that arise during psychotherapeutic treatment. Katie and her team have both formal and on-the-job training on the effects of trauma and have used that knowledge to better represent and advocate on behalf of survivors of sexual abuse and other traumas in Maryland and around the country. In recognition of her talents, the Maryland Association for Justice (MAJ) appointed Katie the Co-Chair of MAJ’s first Sexual Abuse Litigation Section. 

Katie actively works on the firm’s orthopedic device litigation and HIV litigation, among others. The United States District Court for the District of Maryland appointed Katie to the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee of the Smith & Nephew Orthopedic Hip Implant MultiDistrict Litigation (MDL) and Katie was appointed by Judge Catherine Blake to serve on the MDL's settlement committee.

Katie is recognized for her empathy, dedication, and ability to secure excellent results, including a $1.2 million bench verdict for a survivor of psychotherapy abuse. Katie’s accolades include being named to Maryland Super Lawyers Rising Stars; Best Lawyers Rising Star; and National Trial Lawyers Top 100 Trial Lawyers. She actively contributes to the legal community as a member of various professional organizations.
